Seems kind of stupid to pay $10 for just another page of storage when you can get an entire character and 46 storage slots plus all the hero slots for $10 instead. The only useful thing is the storage would all be in one place and I wouldn't have to logout and login to get the items I want like I've been doing for 4 years now. But, $40 for more storage? I thought they said they would never charge for stuff like that again. Didn't they learn their lesson when they tried this when Factions came out?

More than that, actually, once you add in the new equipment pack on each character! Maybe like a bag, with 10 slots, which can be upgraded to 20 slots...?

In other threads I have stated I would pay for extra storage and many agreed with me. I am all for GW getting some extra RW money to fuel the overhead. Wya to listen ANET, we have a winner.

To Everyone complaining about the $10 price tag on slots:
ANET IS A BUSINESS WHO'S PRIMARY GOAL IS TO MAKE MONEY!!!!
They need a way to bring in a little more revenue between now and GW2, so quit whining and accept the fact that the business HAS to come first, then the players second.

stop complaining about the price people. we can always just make everything free, make anet go bankrupt, have guild wars shut down and not be able to play it.

Just to make this clear - nobody is complaining about Anet adding in the option to pay for additional storage, although the general consensus is that the cost of it is prohibitive (compared to other options at similar cost). The main disappointment is that the 'free' part of the storage update doesn't really appear to be much of an upgrade. 20 weap/armor slots on a char (supposedly, if you buy the 'max' equipment pack) and 1 extra tab of Xunlai Storage isn't all that much extra for free. There are still problems with books, consumables, minipets, inscriptions, mods, and materials beyond the paltry 250 that are allowed in your current materials tab to contend with.
Anything is better than nothing, and for that I'm thankful, but don't expect me to be doing cartwheels over this part of the April Update by any means. Anet/NCSoft could've raised extra money in other ways, such as lowering the cost of extra character slots from the in-game store or campaigns in the in-game store from their fixed max price (so people would actually buy these instead of waiting for Amazon/Newegg/etc. low-cost deals instead).

I'm pretty happy with that's been announced, is certainly more than I was expecting. As people have said, paying for extra storage is optional. Maybe I'll pick up one or 2, maybe not, choice is a lovely thing.
Roll on update !

Thanks ANet.
You've got my $40. And whatever extra it costs to get the special tab.

Personally, I'm quite happy with the 5th bag - my Ranger has around 15 weapons and 10 armor pieces, and a place to put 10 of those other than bags would be quite nice. The 5th storage slot would be a great addition, and that's enough for me.
The Zaishen Quests have the potential to be great, and also have the potential to be a huge disappointment. I'm not going to make any other calls on those until the update comes.

I have no complaints with the optional storage for $10.00 because Guild Wars has no monthly fee. Overall a nice addition to the game. I'm still not letting Arenanet forget we are still waiting for HOM and GW2 info!

It all sounds pretty good. Keep in mind that there are still a few surprises along with what we already know about this update.

This update keeps looking cooler and cooler, the fact that the Zaishen Quests are already made content should focus people in that area. If the quest is to do the whole Sorrows furnace though I would hope it had a pretty decent reward.

What is with the hurry about HoM? That won't have a functionality until GW2 comes so who cares whether ANet makes it account-wide now or 2 days before the release of GW2?

Might be $10 USA as quoted but if your in another country the exchange rate gets you plus cc charges or bank fees.
Like todays exchange rate for Australia.
10.00 USD = 13.9190 AUD
Or if its 10 euro
10.00 EUR = 18.3375 AUD <<< Im stuck with this price cause the game won't let me pay in USA$
Think ill pass unless they drop it to the same as a char slot price.

Well guess it's time for me to make a (probably brief) return to Guru. This update might entice me to actually play for the first time in a few months. I'm mostly looking forward to the Equipment packs as several of my character's inventories have gotten rather full of armour and weapons (especially my warrior).
Now, for old times sake, I'll reply to random quotes from this thread.
Quote:
Our upcoming promotion will be the ONLY way to get this special pane; it is extra, which means you can't buy it later.
|
Just like how the Bonus Mission Pack was only for people who bought EotN from the In-Game Store...

Don't waste credits on bags, booze is the way to go. That or use them to get Scrolls of Adventurer's Insight and sell them to a merchant (100 gold per Credit).

Fixing the meta would have been better, to be honest.
Does the zoo mean you can get lower level pets in PvP? If so, yay for IWAY buff, more reason not to Tombs.

Add Australian currency already.
$18 (assuming you're paying 10euro) for an extra storage pane.

That might actually give me an excuse to finally go and kill that big bile of bones. Only time I've come close to killing Rotscale was back when the Bone Dragon boss in Sanctum Cay was also called Rotscale.
